01/51 hadiths that every Muslim should know with explanation (tafsir)
The mention of Allah is what comforts the heart and soul. In this hadith, the Prophet (ﷺ) informs us of the great blessings that come from two particularly short phrases verbalized in the language of a Muslim. The word tasbih means to deny from Allah every kind of flaw and defect. The most typical phrase used to do this in Arabic is to say SubhanAllah.
The two phrases mentioned are easy to say in any situation without difficulty. A person can repeat them over and over and that is why the Prophet (ﷺ) recommended it.
We are also informed that the weight of these two short phrases will be very heavy on the Day of Judgment when all our good and bad deeds will be weighed against each other in the scales. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said that these two phrases, in particular, are very beloved by Allah. This shows that making tasbeeh of Allah and glorifying Him is among the best forms of submissive worship.
This hadith also teaches us about the infinity of Allah’s mercy towards us, because He is willing to give us many rewards for small good deeds.
Subhane Allhu ue bihamdihi, Subhane Allhu el Adhim.
